About the city 🌇

Iserlohn is located in the innovative district called Sauerland near the Ruhr district. The town is exceptionally green and is surrounded by forest and nature with plenty of space for relaxation for the nearly 100,000 residents. In summer, you can definitely enjoy yourself in Iserlohn's charming historic centre.

Svans wander along the coast of Lake Seiler in Iserlohn and are rarely bothered by the human visitors who come to enjoy nature. That is one side of Iserlohn - surrounded by forest, greenery and a relaxed atmosphere. Just a few hundred metres away it can get quite loud - especially when the enthusiastic Iserlohn fans support their ice hockey team, the Iserlohn Roosters. In addition, due to the universities, nightlife is characterized by young people visiting various bars, clubs and cafes every weekend.

Iserlohn offers residents a wonderful mix of city attractions and untouched nature, along with a big city flair. In addition to shopping, concerts and sports events, there are a wealth of activities such as golf, tennis and much more in the beautiful nature. When hunger strikes after various outdoor activities, you can enjoy the many restaurants in the city.

When you need a study break and the green natural areas have to be replaced with a more vibrant urban life, you are free to choose whether it should be big cities such as Dortmund, Düsseldorf or Cologne as they are all nearby cities. Believe it or not, European metropolises such as Amsterdam and Brussels are only a three-hour drive from Iserlohn.
