If you are into sunny weather, beautiful and white beaches, this is the place for you. Tampa is beautifully located on Florida's west coast in Tampa Bay. In the bay you have the perfect conditions for water activities such as paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing. And when you get back from the beach, you don't have to worry about getting bored. With a population of about 400,000 citizens, you are guaranteed a vibrant city and nightlife.

Not so interested in the city life? Don't worry about it. You get the best of both worlds in Tampa because of the incredible scenery. The city is rich in natural parks you can go to, and if you're looking for theme parks, Tampa also has a great selection of these! The city has a total of 178 different parks. If you ever need to take a break from Tampa, you can be in Orlando in less than 2 hours by train. In Orlando, you can enjoy famous attractions, like Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios Florida.

The food in Tampa is heavily influenced by Latin America. Tampa is not far from Cuba and it is evident when you look at the menu. One of the city's famous staple foods is the Cuban sandwich, and people say you haven't been to Tampa if you haven't tasted it.

You'll definitely get a nice tan when living in Tampa. The city has a subtropical climate that means the weather is excellent all year round, so remember to pack your summer clothes before you leave.

What is the tuition and requirements for study abroad (exchange) students?

The study abroad (exchange student) programme will often have a different tuition fee and lower entry requirements. In addition, there might be a specific course catalog for study abroad exchange students. Book a call with a Uniclub advisor who will present you the requirements for single semester study abroad students, and how to navigate within the course catalog.

Additionally, you might be able to get exempt from taking a TOEFL or IELTS test as a study abroad (exchange) student. A Uniclub advisor will advise you on which universities have more flexbile English proficiency requirements.

What are the Semester Start Dates?

Schiller International University uses a semester system for both full-degree students and semester abroad students studying to receive credit towards their home degree system. The semester system is equivalent in course load and duration to a three-trimester system. Students can start their studies in January, May or September.
