The Memorial Fund, as stated in section 2 of the Foundation, provides grants for younger, promising lawyers for use in scientific studies at home and abroad. It will usually be universities, but other institutions, such as international organizations, may also come up. The grants are granted to study in public law, preferably international law, international regulation and EU law. In accordance with the Fundatsen, international law has preference.
